How the system works
Each wheel has a sensor that sends the tyre pressure and temperature to the vehicle. When everything is working, the instrument cluster shows the values for all four wheels.
When problems occur
- The sensor has a built-in battery that runs flat after a few years
- The sensor gets damaged when tyres are fitted
- When switching to another set of wheels (e.g. winter wheels), the vehicle doesn't recognise the new sensors
- The warning light stays on or a message says the system isn't working
How we fix it
We check which sensor isn't sending a signal, replace it and adapt it to the vehicle via software. After that the instrument cluster again shows the pressure and temperature of each wheel.
